Hello dear site visitor! My name is Sofia Gutmann. I am an artist - a painter based in Switzerland, specializing in the hauntingly beautiful realms of horror and fantasy. My art delves into the otherworldly, capturing eerie landscapes, mythical creatures, and shadowed tales that blur the line between fear and wonder. Alongside these themes, I love to paint animals — symbols of loyalty, resilience, and the raw essence of life.

My creative journey is deeply personal. Born in Eastern Europe, I draw, paint and craft since I can remember. Already fascinated by fairytales and nature from a young age, I loved reading and spent lots of time exploring our big garden. After moving to Germany as a teen, I faced the challenges of adapting to a new culture, while also trying to connect to the people surrounding me. The isolation I felt during those years shaped my imagination, becoming a sanctuary where creatures of myth and the mysterious took form. Art was my voice when I couldn’t find the words to express my feelings.

Today, I channel my imagination into vibrant, evocative pieces. Through my work, I seek to honor the strength found in vulnerability, the beauty of the strange, and the unyielding bond we share with the fantastical worlds we create in our minds.
